CQ World Wide DX Contest

The CQ WW is the largest Amateur Radio competition in the world with over 30,000 participants

OBJECTIVE: For amateurs around the world to contact as many other amateurs in as many CQ zones and countries as possible.

Current Sri Lankan record for multi – multi is held by 4S0DX in 1993 and the score was 2,750,960. This was by a German DX Group hosted/helped by the RSSL during the presidency of Ranjit Goonawardene operating from 4S7RR’s estate in Kosgama, Avissawella.

This year a team with the blessings of the radio society will operate under the club call 4S7RS from Biodiversity Education and Research Centre, Hiyare Reservoir, Hiyare, Galle, Sri Lanka. Thanks to the arrangements made by our good friend and RSSL treasurer Nadika 4S6NCH. The location is surround by 600 acres of wild land we hope the electrically quiet location will help us to make many contacts. We will be running barefoot 100 watts and a tri-bander for the higher bands.
